Skein

Skein, is a series in which Mabel starts using the thread as a main and symbolic element on these creations. Through these pieces, with a very different poetic level, it is possible to deal with the condition of the human being, with its transit through the universe and with her more personal experiences. In addition, she returns to the past, but otherwise conceived, the thread becomes a moving metaphor, of communication, of doing and undoing, of seeing and hiding. Likewise, she is interested in embarking on a utopic journey through migration, not from individuality but as a collective phenomenon. She reflects on individuals, yearning for her spaces, for her nation. The thread works to establish readings about fragility and the difficulties existing from one place to the other.
